The Story of Grangeville’s Santa Truck

  Every December since the mid-80’s, the quiet streets of Grangeville come alive as Santa rides along wishing everyone a merry Christmas!  HOW IT ALL BEGAN…   The Santa Truck is a Buffalo Firetruck that was purchased, new, by the Grangeville Fire Department in 1944. Rumor has it, the truck was headed to an aircraft carrier during WWII. As a result of that, it was very basic, no chrome and nothing flashy. Somehow it found its way to Grangeville.    The fire department used it as a pumper until the mid-80’s when it was retired.
